Jeanne Randolph is an autonomous intellectual whose talks, performances and writings reveal the commonalities between psychoanalytic theory, spectator sports, western philosophy, doo-dads, contemporary Canadian visual arts, advertising, insect life and other stuff. Her first book, PSYCHOANALYSIS & SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING was very influential. Other collected writings include Symbolization and its Discontents (1997) and Why Stoics Box: essays on art and society (2003). Her fourth book, ETHICS OF LUXURY, is being launched at Artspeak on Wed. October 8th.
