Congratulations to former AHVA student Derrick Chang on his new role as Executive Director at Centre A, starting March 1, 2020.

Derrick studied Critical and Curatorial Studies in the department, and mounted a thesis exhibition, Sounding Off: Making Queer Noise Areas – Queer experience, noise politics, transnationalism, which investigated the struggle against the unresolved status of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals living within the binary of “gay friendly” and “homophobic” societies.

Derrick has been extensively involved in arts and culture, having held leadership and development roles at the Gay and Lesbian Association of the Peace (GALAP), the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, VIVO Media Arts, Artspeak, and the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery.

We wish Derrick the best as he begins his new role at Centre A.
