Hello Everyone,
As we move forward together as an online community, I wanted to update everyone on the status of some key projects.
The BFA/BA graduating exhibition, Errance, is going online and course instructor Phil McCrum, students, and staff are working their magic to make a meaningful show for all to see! A printed exhibition catalogue is also being published in late April.
The Art History Undergraduate Symposium has been postponed to the end of September, along with the launch of Issue 11 of the Undergraduate Journal of Art History and Visual Culture (UJAH).
The MFA exhibition has been postponed and the Belkin Gallery, MFA students, and our department are currently working out details. Stay tuned.
Our Critical and Curatorial Studies students are determining how to proceed with their thesis exhibitions.
PhD defences are continuing as scheduled online. Congratulations to Katherine Jackson and Jeff O’Brien who both recently successfully defended in this new format.
Keep safe everyone, practice physical distancing, wash your hands, wipe down anything you are bringing into your home. Stay home as much as you possibly can. This is a highly contagious virus and we all must pay heed and be responsible to ourselves, communities and the larger society.
Stay informed, make informed decisions!

Also, dancing is always a good idea—play your favourite songs and dance, dance, dance!
I follow Diplo on Instagram and he played live several times on the weekend.
If you are alone, reach out to family and friends, read poetry and theory of course, and keep well and take good care.
I wish each and every one of you and your loved ones the very best during this challenging time.
Stay safe,
Dana Claxton
