Congratulations to AHVA alumna, Jayne Wilkinson, on her promotion to Editor-in-Chief of Canadian Art. This follows her initial appointment at Canadian Art as Managing Editor in March 2018.

The now Toronto-based Wilkinson earned an MA in Art History at UBC in 2014. Her thesis, Art documents: The politics of the visible in the work of Taryn Simon and Trevor Paglen, investigated the politics of visibility in documentary and conceptual photography.

Wilkinson then went on to become the editor and publisher at Prefix Photo from 2014 to 2016. Her writing has appeared in C MagazinePrefix PhotoInuit Art QuarterlyDrain and InVisible Culture, among others.

As a curator, she has put together shows for artist-run centres and public galleries throughout the Greater Toronto Area, including the Blackwood Gallery, Gallery 44, Prefix ICA, Trinity Square Video and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery.

We wish Jayne the best as she begins her new and role at Canadian Art.
