The Art History Students’ Association invites you to the 14th annual Undergraduate Art History Symposium and launch of the Undergraduate Journal of Art History and Visual Culture (UJAH)!

Symposium: 2:00 to 5:00 in room 1002 (main floor)
UJAH launch: 5:00 to 7:00, with speech by editor-in-chief Mary Buckland (foyer)

The symposium is a chance for undergraduate students in the Department of Art History, Visual Art & Theory to present their research and writing in front of an audience including students and faculty—and for other students to learn more about the exciting work of their peers.

Karina Greenwood – The Tartan Ladies: A Comparative Analysis of Tartan and Gender through Queen Victoria and the Scottish Suffragettes

Brenna Goodwin-McCabe – “Secure the Shadow E’re the Substance Fade”: How Post-Mortem Photography Captures and Evades

Maxim Greer – Drag in the Era of Queer Affirmation: Branding, Hybridity, and Critique

Jeffrey Tse – The Offender Behind the Lens: The Enduring Ethical Legacy of Beitler’s Lynching Photograph
