Listenings Catalogue Available Now

Out now! Listenings—the long-awaited catalogue responding to the Belkin Art Gallery’s 2020 exhibition Soundings: An Exhibition in Five Parts (curated by Candice Hopkins and Dylan Robinson), which toured nationally and internationally. Revisiting the exhibition’s central question—How can a score function as a call and a tool for decolonization?—Listenings extends Soundings through commissioned responses that foreground listening as both method and practice.

The project includes contributions from a number of AHVA-affiliated artists, writers, and curators: Jeneen Frei-Njootli (former AHVA faculty and MFA ’17), Camille Georgeson-Usher (Assistant Professor), Germaine Koh (Assistant Professor), Diamond Point (2022 Koerner Artist-in-Residence), Olivia Whetung (MFA ’16), and Tania Willard (Associate Professor and Belkin Art Gallery Director); with a response by Charo Neville (MA ’06). The publication was copy edited by Greg Gibson (MA ’09), AHVA alum and Undergraduate Advisor.
