Tyrus Miller is Professor of Literature and Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
He has published books, articles and essays in the fields of Modernist, avant-garde, and postmodernist literature; the interrelations of the arts in the 20th- and 21st- century; aesthetics; cinema and film theory; the Frankfurt School; philosophy and social theory; contemporary poetry and language arts; socialist and post-socialist culture and aesthetics.
He is the author of the recent Modernism and the Frankfurt School (Edinburgh University Press). His lecture at UBC will focus on the late writings and philosophy of Walter Benjamin.
