Vancouver Special: Ambivalent Pleasures Forum

DATE
Saturday February 25, 2017
TIME
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

The Vancouver Art Gallery exhibition Vancouver Special: Ambivalent Pleasures includes work by forty visual artists, as a survey of the contemporary art activity in the city over the past five years. The featured works of art do not adhere to a singular subject or style but instead point to overlapping and ongoing conversations about abstraction, Surrealism and conceptual practice. In this afternoon of talks, artists and writers offer perspectives on these aspects of the exhibition and highlight the nuanced and stimulating spaces in-between definitions.
