The Department of Art History, Visual Art, and Theory (AHVA) and the Art History Students’ Association (AHSA) are pleased to present the 22nd Annual Art History Undergraduate Symposium!
Join us on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, for an evening of thought-provoking discussions and critical reflections on art history. This symposium showcases outstanding undergraduate research, exploring both contemporary and historical topics.
This year’s presentations cover diverse subjects:

Zoë Markwick — The Nature of William Morris
Jay Steinke — Rethinking Gender in Byzantine Sanctity: Textual and Visual Constructions of Holiness
Felix Rowe — “You Have Made Me Famous”: The Construction of Stravinsky’s Myth in Arnold Newman’s Portrait
After each presentation, students and faculty will have the opportunity to engage in a lively Q+A session.
