Congratulations to AHVA alumnus Derrick Chang on his new role as Executive Director at Centre A, starting March 1, 2020.

Derrick earned an MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies at UBC in 2016. His thesis, Sounding Off: Making Queer Noise Areas – Queer experience, noise politics, transnationalism, investigated the struggle against the unresolved status of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals living within the binary of “gay friendly” and “homophobic” societies.

Derrick has been extensively involved in arts and culture, having held leadership and development roles at the Gay and Lesbian Association of the Peace (GALAP), the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, VIVO Media Arts, Artspeak, and the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery.

We wish Derrick the best as he begins his new role at Centre A.
