5th Annual Art History Undergraduate Symposium

The call for papers deadline is Monday February 23rd at 12pm and the date of the Symposium is March 27th.

Interested students are asked to submit an abstract of no more than 300 words. Please clearly identify in your abstract how your paper is different from existing literature. You also have the option of including a list of three-four points on how your paper achieves this.

Six papers will be selected and each student will have 20 minutes to present. All abstracts should be submitted electronically to ubcahsa@gmail.com and should include the class number for which the paper was originally assigned.  The personal information of each submission will be confidential and will not be released to the panel. Submissions are open to all current Art History, Visual Art and Theory students at UBC and current undergraduates in the greater Vancouver area.

If you are not interested in submitting a paper for this year’s symposium but are interested in helping out please contact us through email or attend our first symposium planning meeting on Wednesday, February 4 from 12:30-2pm in Lasserre 210 (drop in anytime if you have a class conflict). We are currently seeking students to sit on our panel for selecting papers and to elect students to organize additional AHSA student events.

Thank you,

Alexandra Turnbull
