Please note that all supporting documents (e.g., writing sample, official transcripts, references) are now uploaded as electronic files to the online application. Applicants will only be required to submit official hard-copy transcripts for verification if they are offered admission.

Admissions Requirements

Admission to the PhD program requires the completion of an MA in art history and reading knowledge of one language other than English. Students with MA degrees in related fields may be required to complete additional art history courses for their PhD program.

Entrance into the program is possible only in the fall. Although it is possible to enrol on a part-time basis, the PhD program must be completed within six years of initial registration.
