Dr. Allan Antliff: “Queer Art/Queer Anarchy”

In conjunction with the exhibition Luis Jacob: A Dance for Those of Us Whose Hearts Have Turned to Ice, and Other Works, the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery is pleased to host a lecture by visiting scholar, Dr. Allan Antliff.

Dr. Antliff is the author of Art and Anarchy: From the Paris Commune to the Fall of the Berlin Wall and Anarchist Modernism: Art, Politics and the First American Avant-Garde, and editor of Only a Beginning: An Anarchist Anthology.  As a curator and art critic he has written extensively on Luis Jacob’s work.  Dr. Antliff holds the Canada Research Chair in Art History at the University of Victoria, and teaches courses in avant-garde visual art of the 20th century.
